Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!
Hello, my name is Erik Hengstrum, born and raised in Los Angeles
What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?
Have always felt a strong pull to storytelling. At camp as kid at camp, I would be the one to make up stories. Also, in my career, I was a copywriter for iHeart media and wrote radio commercials. I know those were “radio commercials” but I looked at them as 30 second stories! 🙂
Do you have any special writing habits?
I try to write at the same time everyday.
When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?
Before I write, I have a beginning, middle and end for the book and every single chapter. For me, not having that would be like trying to drive someplace I’ve never been without Google Maps…….that’s how I like to work.
In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?
My current work, “The Campaign of Peerless Kent” will be my favourite. It takes place where I grew up, in Los Angeles. My favourite all time book is “The Graduate.”
How do you feel after writing a book?
Tell us about your latest book and please put the link so our readers can find it.
My current project is “The Campaign of Peerless Kent.” I hope to have it completed and on the market by early November.
