Jyoti Arora

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!

I’m Jyoti Arora, an Indian novelist and blogger. Five of my books are currently in the market. These are Dream’s Sake, Lemon Girl, You Came Like Hope, #JustRomance, and my latest non-fiction book ‘How to Write Short Stories like a Pro.’ I write books that are thought-provoking, yet entertaining. I also enjoy writing about the latest technological advances. That is why I have a technology blog called TechnoTreats. I also have a personal blog attached to my website at

What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?

I studied English Literature for my bachelor’s and master’s degree courses. These courses gave me a better understanding of how much art, skill, and techniques are required for writing a good book. I marveled at how I was studying and falling in love with the books written centuries ago. That made me aspire to attain this literary magic too. I started dreaming about writing books that would make readers happy for centuries. That’s why I became a writer.

Do you have any special writing habits?

No. But I do take almost as much time editing and polishing my books as I take for writing them.

When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?

It’s a little bit of both, I think. I have the major plot points noted down. I know where I want to take my story, what end I want to give to it. I work up the details as I move forward with the book.

In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?

I love all my books but am especially proud of my Lemon Girl. It’s an intense and thought-provoking book that has received much appreciation from all. This book is a beautiful journey of self-recovery and asserts that a victim can’t be treated as a culprit just because she’s a woman. It became a finalist in an international indie books award and even received appreciation from Ms. Maneka Gandhi.

How do you feel after writing a book?

I feel relieved that I’ve been able to complete the book. But there’s also nervousness and fear. I know I’ve worked hard to make the book as good as I could. But there’s always a fear that the readers may not like it. Fortunately, all my books have received much appreciation from readers. So, I feel a bit more confident in my writing abilities now.
