Author Interview

Lynda Throsby

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!

Lynda Throsby – Author – Business owner – Wife – Mum – Nana – Animal lover

What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?

I always wrote stories as a teenager, I loved Horror, Stephen King and James Herbert were my go to authors. I’ve read for as long as I can remember. I loved reading, moving from horrors to Jackie Collins and Jilly cooper.

Do you have any special writing habits?

Not really. I write whatever comes into my head as I go. I let the characters lead me, I don’t plot. I have a bad memory so have to write a book info sheet with all the information as I go along.

When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?

Always elaborate as I go along. I have an idea and just let it flow. Except my first book Catfish. That was based on working as a PA for erm…, my cover model. I used to get messages about him appearing on different dating sites, he wasn’t on them but I used to say how dangerous it was and the story came from there. I even make an appearance in it as the PA. For my my second book in my current series it just took me on a totaly different path.

In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?

The best book I have written, I have two. My first one Catfish and then my latest one The Pain They Feel which is the 1st book in a series.

My favourite book ever, that’s difficult, before writing I used to read about two books a week (sometimes more) But I did love the Twilight series before it became a film. I also loved Colleen Hoovers earlier books which were YA, Slammed is the one that sticks and I always remember, but I have read so many, it really is difficult to say. Some you read and really enjoy but you forget them, which I now know if you are going to write a review, which we as authors strive to get, you need to write it immediately after reading it, because you forget just how good it was.

How do you feel after writing a book?

Elated when it’s finished and edited and formatted and the covers done. Then terrified once it’s released. I get so nervous just sending it to my editor or to someone to read. You dread it in case it’s a pile of pooh.

Tell us about your latest book and please put the link so our readers can find it.

The Pain They Feel came out on 12th August, book 1 in The Pain Series. I love this one, it is Dark and I warn everyone before they go in. My editor kept saying she loved how dark it was and not to call it a Romance because your typical Romance reader would think WTH. The book follows Blaine, who doesn’t feel pain and becomes obsessed with trying to find out how it feels, then Primrose who has suffered a few losses in her life and how they met. I don’t want to give the story away, lol.

Do you have a new release? When? We want details.

Book 2 is in edits as I type and I am currently writing book 3. They have some of the previous characters in them but follow different characters. I think I am aiming at late October to November for book 2 to be released and book 3 hopefully in February and I will start on book 4 when book 3 is in edits. haha.
