Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!
Hi, I’m Simon Lunn, pleased to meet you.
What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love of books. I work full time in an infant school, hopefully passing on my love of books and writing to the next generation.
Do you have any special writing habits?
I sit with my laptop at the dining room table, with the TV on low in the background or quiet music playing. I can’t work in silence. I’ll have a diet coke and perhaps something naughty to nibble on. I’ve a very eclectic taste in music and I’m currently enjoying ‘The Hu’ a Mongolian rock band.
When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?
I’ve written one book, I knew the beginning and I knew the last line of the story. The bit in the middle evolved as I wrote it. The book took me on a journey, just as I hope it will the readers who buy it. I’m now ten chapters in to the next book. With a new location and all new characters.
In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?
As much as I am enjoying the book I’m writing at the moment, I think my first book will always be the one I am proudest of the most. It’s about a man called Ben who is suffering from writer’s block after the death of his wife. He moves to France for a fresh start and encounter Sam and her much younger sister Katie. You, Me and Katie makes three.
How do you feel after writing a book?
It’s weird. By the end of the process, I’ve read and re-read it so much, I’m kind of glad to see it finished, but also sad to be leaving my ‘friends’ in the story behind.
Tell us about your latest book and please put the link so our readers can find it.
The latest book is still being written. You can search for my author name Simon Lunn on Amazon to find it when it is finished or follow the link above to my first book and find it that way. The next book is called Spellbound and is set in a sleepy little Cornish village. It’s main characters are Gwen Pengelly, a Wiccan and Matt who is a swordsmith.
Where can we find you on socials? Do you have your own group and want to share it with us?
Yes I do! You can find me on Simon Lunn Books on Facebook. I look forward to seeing you there.
